Well the time is winding down over here in Spain. Some fun things that happened today...
The third grade class likes to plot all together and make special projects for people. Today they were plotting something for Yolanda and were so funny trying to keep it hidden. Gladys once again asked me to say her name with the English accent and they asked me to bring in some homemade aka Chips Ahoy cookies tomorrow. Then in 6th grade, Francisco did the "pretend I am pulling my thumb off" trick with some really funny sound effects and I couldn't help but laugh! He even drew fake blood on his hands which was maybe a step too far but I appreciated his enthusiasm for being a class clown. We also got cake from a girl in 4th grade - I love that they still bring cakes in for their birthdays! Everyone should do that.
Also, today is Wednesday, so we made our usual stop in at El Rebujito for mid-day tapas. I am finally a regular at a place!!! He knows exactly what I want and doesn't even have to ask me to order anymore - I have always wanted that to happen! Too bad I am leaving in 3 weeks. Oh well, I guess I will have to find a spot in Asheboro!
Something I realized I will miss - obviously my regular status at Rebujito. Also, the paseo and the feeling of actually enjoying running. I fear that I will turn to hate it again once I am back in the States and not running beside a beautiful sea every day. But who knows. I hope that is not true because I really do enjoy it right now! I'll also miss cheap fruit and veggies - seriously the health kick is starting up! - and the breeze when it's really hot. I have complained about the wind here before when it was freezing, but now it is truly an awesome feeling. So refreshing. A great reminder to me :)
Just met some crazy old French man out by the pool. I met his wife who is from Belgium a few times at Bar Spinnaker but had never met him. We had a broken French/Spanish talk and we were all invited to come eat and drink with them whenever we wanted. Might have to hit that up in these last few weeks. He told me the pool will be opening June 1, same day I leave. Ha. But it was nice to finally have some interaction with some neighbors!
