What a fun day with the parents again! We woke up at 6am and started out (in the dark for 2 hours) on the route to Gibraltar! It took us along the Costa del Sol, a beautiful beach-view highway. The time getting there was 5 hours but we had a fun time talking and reading up on Gibraltar. We got there and made the trip up the cable cars and saw the GREEN MONKEYS. The whole time in the car I felt like I was waiting to see Prince Ali (cause, you know, he's got the monkeys). We also saw AFRICA. The distance between Gibraltar and Africa (Morocco) is only 15 km and we could see the little bottleneck of Tanger and Tarifa (where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic). So we saw simultaneously: Europe, Africa, Atlantic Ocean, Med Sea! Crazy.
We ate at good ol McDonald's on the way back and that drive only took us 4 hours. We are now in Almeria spending the night because they have an early flight. We just ate fantastic Italian and are going to pack/organize, watch the new Big Bang Theory, and then tuck in. I am definitely going to be sad to see them go. I am so so happy that they got to come over and see what has been "home" for the past six months, meet my friends, see where I work, take me to the places I have wanted to go most since I got over here, etc.! And it is only 2 months until they are back over here with the sisters! The time will fly.
Especially with my trip to London which starts tomorrow night! I can't believe it is here already. Semana Santa. Sweet day. Parents. Africa (one day I will be there!). Monkeys. Thank You Lord for the blessings in my life.
Ohhhh funny joke the dad told a few days ago. We had been in Cordoba the day before seeing La Mezquita, the really old and beautiful mosque. So we are walking through their hotel in Roquetas and my mom asks if there are mosquitoes here and my dad says, "Yea... we saw one yesterday." And about 45 seconds later I got it... yea slow I know... but it was funny. I enjoy the corny jokes haha!
