Spider

This morning we were on our way to school, about a 15-20 minute drive, and halfway through I noticed a spider climbing on the car ceiling. I proceeded to watch it for at least 5 minutes making sure that it did not fall on Stephen's head and that it came nowhere close to mine. After a while, I noticed that it was making a web. It was really an interesting thing to see. While I am sure it is uncomfortable to have silk coming out of one's backside, it was crazy to see this spider take to the skies on its little invisible chain as I watched. Eventually, I decided that I could not kill such a creative creature but that I would sweep it out of the car once we parked. But then said spider decided to race down towards the ground. Down towards my seat. I began to panic (this was not a tiny spider). I had my napkins out ready to kill it but the thought of getting in close enough proximity to a live spider terrifies me as well so I was in a pickle. In my angst, Stephen heard me whimper sort of and he turned around to see the spider. I reached out my napkin to stop it from scaling down the middle of the car. When it landed on my napkin, Stephen literally took his thumb and smushed the spider against the napkin. He did not use the other side of the napkin! It was skin-to-spider contact and now the spider is dead. GROSS. I cannot believe he touched it. I said that a few times the rest of the car ride and once or twice once we got to school. Sick nasty seriously. (Warning: guts discussed in this sentence, skip ahead if easily queasied or offended on behalf of spiders) The spider looked like it had some juices come out of it from the squishage and so I asked Stephen if he needed a napkin for his hands. He looked at his thumb, rubbed some fingers together and said 'Nah I am good.' EW. He had spider guts on his hand!
This probably seems like a child's blog but ew spiders. Just another interesting sidenote as to how completely different things freak everyone out.
On tap for today... re-run of the HSM dances and maybe getting some Footloose going or some THRILLER.
